Ahmed Hassan sits outside his modest home in Mogadishu, Somalia, watching his children play. As a father of six, he carries the weight of their future on his shoulders. The drought that has devastated his region has made it nearly impossible to provide for his family.
His children - Fatima (14), Ali (12), Amina (10), Hassan (8), Mariam (6), and little Abdullah (4) - are his pride and joy. But the constant worry about their next meal has taken its toll. “I would lie awake at night, wondering how I would feed them tomorrow,” Ahmed recalls.
