Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

QurbaniAid (“QurbaniAid,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the trust you place in us when you give. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.qurbaniaid.org (the “Site”), why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

By using the Site or submitting a donation, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

QurbaniAid is a Qurbani donation program operated by United American Muslim Association of NY Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 1980 and recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (EIN 11-2567323). The association is responsible for the personal information collected through the Site.

You can reach us at 391 Clifton Ave, Clifton, NJ 07011, by email at help@qurbaniaid.org, or by phone at +1 (347) 605-1989.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information we need to accept your gift and carry out your Qurbani or sponsorship. This includes:

  • Donor details you provide: your first name, surname, email address, phone number, and the region or country you select.
  • Donation details: the Qurbani type or sponsorship you choose, the amount, the date, and, if you provide them, your intention (niyyah) and the name of the person on whose behalf the Qurbani is offered.
  • Your consents: whether you agreed to our Terms of Use and to any other consent options shown on the form.
  • Messages: information you include when you email, call, or write to us.
  • Technical and usage data: such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and approximate location derived from your IP address, collected automatically through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies.

Payment information. Payments will be processed by Stripe, Inc. through a secure, Stripe-hosted checkout page. Your card number and other payment credentials are entered directly with Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as the payment status, the amount, the last four digits and brand of the card, and the billing name and email, which we use to confirm and record your donation. Online payments are not yet available on the Site; this section describes how they will work once enabled.

We do not create donor accounts or logins. We do not ask for sensitive information such as government identification numbers or health information; regarding religious matters, we receive only the intention you choose to write for your Qurbani.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • process your donation and carry out your Qurbani or sponsorship according to the type, region, and intention you selected;
  • send donation confirmations, receipts, and the written acknowledgments donors may need for tax purposes;
  • keep you informed about the status of your Qurbani or sponsorship, for example by confirming that the sacrifice has been performed;
  • manage monthly sponsorships, including recurring billing and cancellation requests;
  • respond to your questions and requests;
  • understand how the Site is used so that we can improve it;
  • keep accurate financial records, meet our legal, tax, and audit obligations, and detect or prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only as follows:

  • Payment processing: Stripe processes your payment and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers: companies that help us operate the Site and our program, such as our hosting provider (Vercel), our database provider, and our email delivery provider. They may use the information only to perform services for us.
  • Field teams and partners: the teams and partner organizations that perform the sacrifice in the selected region receive only what they need to carry it out, typically the Qurbani type and the name or intention to be recited. We do not share your email address, phone number, or payment details with them.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
  • Organizational changes: if the program is transferred to or merged with another charitable organization, donor information may be transferred subject to this policy.
  • With your consent: in any other case where you ask us, or agree, to share your information.

5. How Long We Keep Information

We keep donation records, including your name, contact details, and the details of each gift, for as long as needed to fulfill your donation and to meet our tax, accounting, and audit requirements — generally seven (7) years after the end of the fiscal year in which the donation was made. Technical and analytics data are kept for shorter periods. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

6. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access limited to the staff and providers who need it, and a PCI DSS–compliant payment processor so that card data never reaches our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may contact us at any time to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, except for records we must keep for legal, tax, or accounting purposes;
  • stop receiving non-essential emails from us. Every such email includes a way to opt out, and you can also write to us. Transactional messages, such as receipts, will still be sent.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights, such as the right to know, correct, or delete personal information, or to appeal a decision about your request. Some of these laws do not apply to non-profit organizations; where they do apply to us, we will honor them. Where they do not, we will still consider your request in good faith.

To make a request, email help@qurbaniaid.org. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within a reasonable time and within any period required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser’s local storage) that it needs in order to work, for example to remember your language and the items in your donation cart, as well as analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Site.

We use Google Analytics, including through Google’s Firebase services, to measure visits and page usage. Google collects information such as pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, and approximate location, and provides us with aggregated reports. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the Site works.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common standard for responding to it, the Site does not currently respond to these signals.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Donations should be made by adults. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. A parent may name a child in an intention, for example for an Aqiqah; in that case the information is provided by the parent, not by the child.

10. International Transfers

QurbaniAid is based in the United States, and the information you provide is processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Because Qurbani sacrifices are performed in countries outside the United States, the limited information needed for your Qurbani (such as the name or intention) is shared with our teams and partners in the region you select. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be transferred in this way.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means that the revised policy applies to your use from then on.

12. Contact Us
