Aqiqah is a Sunnah act of sacrifice offered on behalf of a newborn child, typically on the 7th day after birth. It expresses gratitude to Allah for the gift of a child and serves as spiritual protection. Two animals are traditionally sacrificed for a boy, and one for a girl. Aqiqah is a beautiful way to begin a child’s life in connection with Islamic values and community care.
